Frequently asked questions about RFID tags
What is a UHF RFID tag?
A transponder that operates in the ultra-high frequency band (860–960 MHz, RAIN RFID / EPC Gen2 standard) and enables contactless reading from several metres away, even of multiple items at once.
What is the difference between RFID and RAIN RFID?
RAIN RFID is the industry standard for passive UHF RFID (ISO/IEC 18000-63 and EPC Gen2). All our RAIN tags are UHF RFID; ‘RAIN’ indicates compliance with that ecosystem.
Why do I need a special tag for metal?
Metal reflects and detunes UHF signals. On-metal tags incorporate an antenna and spacer designed to perform on metallic surfaces such as steel or aluminium.
Do you manufacture custom RFID tags?
Yes. As manufacturers, we tailor the format, antenna, chip, encapsulation and printing to your application, from the inlay design right through to the final conversion.
Can the tags withstand industrial washing or high temperatures?
We offer tags for laundry and demanding environments. Specific resistance depends on the model; we will confirm the validated specifications for your application.
Do you offer technical support and validation?
